Makin’ a deposit into our Karma Bank.
As you may know one of the 11 Questions is “If you found a hundred bucks on the sidewalk, what would you do?” What about $7 Grand?
Well I’m checking my bank account online today and guess what? There’s a deposit from Friday July 17th for (I kid you not) $6738 and change. Hell, I can really use the money! But I don’t know where it came from. So I called the bank in order to find out. I must confess that I was hoping that it was one of those situations where a mysterious philanthropist dropped some cash into our account and it was actually MINE! That sadly was not the case. Apparently, someone made a deposit in New Jersey and it was credited to the wrong account.
Oh well. Funny though, my bank manager was very sorry it wasn’t my money, and thanked me profusely for bringing it to her attention. You know, there may have been a nanoseconds hestitation about reporting the error, but I ALWAYS get caught – so there’s that. I also know that someone in New Jersey is looking for his $6738 today and I’d appreciate the same honesty.
